Education and Consultation

What I love most from my years of practice, is the opportunity to teach individuals and groups about their body! The human body is such an amazing thing and it's idiosyncrasies and dynamic functions can create such complex abilities. Often what you don't know can hurt you in regards to your body. What I've seen frequently is that lack of awareness can lead to missed opportunities for healing. What I offer are one-on-one consultations where I am at your disposal to answer whatever questions you have to the best of my ability. Maybe you have an MRI that you don't understand. Or questions about the pros and cons of pursuing a total knee replacement - I'd love to chat. We can talk about the anatomy, the physiology, the diagnostic prognosis and what rehabilitation would look like. We can discuss what to expect from a surgeon meeting, or brainstorm questions you should be asking your doctor to ensure you are able to make the most informed decision possible. I cannot answer all your questions - however, I can promise that, when I don't know the answer I will either A - find the answer, B - guide you toward the professional who might have the answer, C - give my thoughts and opinions as if you were the most important person in my life, D - let you know I don't know, but am happy to listen and be a sounding board of your thoughts and feelings. My goal through the provision of consultation services is that I can empower you to be your own self advocate. In today's medical environment, advocacy for ourself is more important than ever before. I want anyone who has been made to feel overlooked, ignored, or experienced the "8 minute Dr. Dash" out of the room to reclaim not only their voice, but their confidence to receive the care they deserve.

Additionally - I have a background in providing educational in-services on a variety of topics to small, medium, and large groups. From "what is physical therapy" to "falls and how to prevent them" "balance" and "pelvic floor health" I want to come and talk to your group, meeting, organization. Do you have a topic you have questions about? Is there interest in setting up an education series, a group chat, or a Q&A? I want to meet as many people as I can, teach about the topic I feel so passionate about, and in the end, help you care for your body so that you never need my services!
