Hello! My name is Rachel Richers, and I’m a licensed physical therapist practicing for the past 8 years in Marion, Iowa. 7 of those years were in an outpatient orthopedic setting, and the past year I have worked at a care center working with the geriatric population. I've recently opened a solo private practice under the name The Kinetic Touch Physical Therapy and Wellness PLLC located in Hiawatha, Iowa.
This clinic will specialize in superior provision of one-on-one, patient centered care tailored to individuals of all ages, in the realm of orthopedic rehabilitation, wellness, and preventative medicine. At The Kinetic Touch Physical Therapy and Wellness PLLC, our patients are more than their diagnosis. We observe and address the whole body function and provide education driven to explain the “what” behind their injury, pain, or vulnerability, and the “why” behind their individualized intervention.
Through the combination of hands on joint and muscle restriction addressment, exercise prescription specifically designed for each patient’s needs, always one-on-one coaching and education, and The Kinetic Touch PLLC will exceed the current standards of practice by bringing the whole human experience back into your individualized care.
My favorite quote provides insight into how I choose to practice medicine. "You treat a diagnosis, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee, you'll win, no matter what the outcome.” From the Robin Williams classic movie Patch Adams, my goal is to return the human touch and patient centered care back to medicine with every patient, client, and neighbor who walks through my door.
While Physical Therapy is my passion - quite literally the air I breathe most days, my true purpose in life is to be a mom and wife (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!). I've hit the jackpot in regards to a wonderful, loving and supportive husband. A man that I could not have done this without - he fixes the problems before they become problems, and he keeps me grounded with my ideas and ambitions want to carry me too far too fast. As a stubborn, opinionated bohemian, I'm lucky to have found a voice that has somehow taught me how to stop, listen, and breathe before I act. Additionally, our two incredible little boys bring every bit of happiness and joy I ever could have dreamed of to my life. My heart, thought process, and life's purpose changed the moment they arrived and I finally understood my mom's words that, "You'll never understand how much I love you until you have kids of your own."
